Why do you not have Garamond or Georgia? Did you purposefully delete them? They're excellent fonts! I suggest you re-install them as I think you'll find many a site out there uses these fonts for body text. I'd like to stray away from using Verdana on everything. It feels so 1998 when users have thousands of fonts installed and everyone's using 2 fonts throughout the web. Also, strikingly enough, TNR has a very high comprehension level for web text. For some letterspacing/line-heights it's actually higher than Verdana. Something I didn't know until I saw a study on it recently. Most people just assume that Verdana has better legibility. Truth is, it's pretty close to TNR.

TNR and Verdana are two totally different fonts. One has serifs, one doesn't. I'm assuming that Kyle chose a series of fonts with serifs because he wanted that type of feel. To choose a sans-serif font would change the feel of the site entirely. That being said it's a very nice site with a classy, vintage feel. The navigation breaks for me in Opera 7.51/Win (it collapses into a clump rather than running the length of the page), but it's still usable.

The annoying Opera bug is actually a display engine error: Opera hates floats. Seeing as the navigation is linear and aligned to the left, display:inline might be best.

Interesting. On my Opera 7.23/win setup at home the navigation works fine. It's most definitely a 7.51 bug.

Om and Mark were great. Rupley really hit his stride after about 5 minutes. With those 2 bighitters he did not need to comment too much. I hope he does comment more next time he hosts. Kevin Rose was ok. I just don't like his "prick" factor. He thinks he has his finger on the pulse of the younger generation. He's another Peter Pan character, but in a negative way. Digg is being maipulated and they need to figure out ways to prevent this. Eventually the number will help buffer this, but there are people trying to crash the ship now. It's a good company and hopefully it works out.

Personally I enjoy Kevin Rose's appearances, although apparently some of the other listeners seem to have an unnatural hatred for him (although guessing by some of the earlier comments, the ignorance flows like water around here and the comments are the same even though the names change...hmmm..same IP?) Everyone did an excellent job, and I don't care how much digg plugging there might be, Digg is an excellent site, and personally I think it heralds the beginning of a new side of user-submitted and managed news and content delivery. I'd rather see it plugged to death than not hear about it at all. Out of his league? I don't think so, I think he melded well with the panel. Go Kevin! Personally, I'm really intrigued by Apple's announcements. The iTV seems to be a very compelling product, and I'm eager to see it in action and read some real reviews of it. Additionally, the HP scandal is a perfect example of a commotion that blew up not because of what happened, but because of the press storm after it. I don't think anyone excuses it, and I'm glad the public has a greater knowledge of what pretexting is (either that, or people here just read the notes and started commenting) but I don't think "heads are rolling" nearly as much as they should. But the Justice Department is poking their noses around HP, so that's a start.
