This is my comment. First, I dont care mutch about other poeple making personnal remarks, this is not a forum for feuds. As for this site, beautifull use of green shades. Navigation is original, but I dont like Flash! The coding is less then groundbreaking. There a bunch of CSS tags that could be written in shorthand and a lot of in the XHTML. Overall, we should congratulate somebody who uses original ideas and make use of new color schemes. Good Job!

I don't consider myself to be a designer... as a user, I find this site hard to read. I appreciate the CSS implementation (if it's all CSS), but that's about it. Not so special in my opinion. But kind of interesting to see, on first glance.

what an interesting geezer, bookmarked for the content alone, i found myself reading lots on this site and lots of the content linked from it. as for the site layout itself, taking into account that the menu is flash (i *think* someone may have mentioned this already), the rest of the site is simply too simple to warrant much discussion. the flash menu does work well though. i do like the green but it's very high contrast to the white text, and can be a little difficult to read after a while. also, the mixture of font styles throughout leaves it all looking very much unfinished. to be fair to evan though, he'd probably be the first to admit it.

I love the green, and I especially love the way the fixed width layout doesn't 'feel' like a fixed width layout. Even with acres of screen space, the green background to the right fills it up nicely and doesn't feel like its wasting anything. The ontent width is just about right for scanning on screen too. Any reason WHY that nav has to be flash? Wouldn't animated gif rollovers have given the same effect too?

i've said this before and i'll say it again, word-for-word: there has been a spate of similar comments on css forums recently and they have, in the large majority, been unwarranted. red herrings, wild goose chases, derailment and nothing more. this is no exception. bar the widened fade from one colour to another (and these are much different colours we are speaking of), these two sites look NOTHING like each other.
