What I Like
The soft color scheme is nice, but what makes this site standout is the navigation scheme. Highlight over a site in the portfolio and both the list and the images are highlighted. The tabs also work seamlessly without any herky jerky movement.
What I Don't like
The header fonts on the right side aren't as smooth as the rest of the text.

A wonderful example of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. While the colour scheme, graphics and background image (which really works well) are all strong on their own, the site's overall layout really takes it to another level. The dropshadows work to create a great layered effect that does a masterful job of displaying the content. The site would be better served with css-based rollovers as (mentioned before) there is a rather bad flicker on the navigation tabs. Also, the typography can be a little overbearing at times--with plain, bold, coloured links and coloured non-links all in the same paragraph. Coloured text always suggests a link, and in this site, some are, some are not. Bolding text doesn't do enough to differ between the two, in my humble opinion.

I will not critic every detail, but all around I really love this design and layout. It's simple, appealling, and really quite inviting. The soft colors are great!
