What I Like

Gotta appreciate a firm that isn't afraid to go with the killer color combination of black and pink. It's a clean design that gives precedence to its content. The flash header allows the reader to enjoy a visual experience for a good 3 seconds and then dive right into the site.

What I Don't Like

Arial doesn't work too well as a small text and having the Recent Work section a light color until you hover over it might bring about some issues.

"It draws 3 times, then the weed flashes twice, then the slogan appears" This is intended behaviour, not the result of browsing via modem. RE your comment on font sizes, I think I'd have to agree and the your point RE the underlines is also very valid. We'll have a look into this and see if we can 'tidy up' these issues. Obviously changing font sizes on sites will always have some kind of undesirable effect in terms of visual appearance, this is what I would expect. I think if we increase the default font size then this would become less of an issue. Thanks for the feedback Peter. :)

First off, it's always a joy to see flash used well in a site. They use just enough to grab the eye and demonstrate their know-how without becoming overbearing--all while maintaining web standards. The movie on "Our Work" is especially fun and playful though not quite up to WDDG standards. The layout and navigation are both clean, and easy to follow, although the green on the services page seems to clash with the pink, but that's a minor point. This seems to have already to have been dealt with, but the grey on grey text is hard to read, especially when underlined. And while the text on the bottom bar does outgrow its background graphic when the font size increases the rest of the site seems to adjust adequately (at least on the home page).

Nice layout. The pink, black, and blue is bold and daring. I don't like the placement of the pink in the composition on some pages. It dominates, which is good in some cases since it is a quote that you probably want the user to read. Maybe since CSS is used, the quote background could change on a per page basis. Nice background and content container gradient use.

Yeah, this is nice :) There are a few display glitches you could do with sorting out on IE5.0 and IE5.5, but nothing Major :)

I think in general it's agreed then that we need to have a think about amending the choice of font, font size and color. :) Alex, what are the glitches that you mention? TIA!

some of the flash things are pretty heavy and im on a 512kb line...I think a preloader would come in handy here... otherwiser a clean site and a beauty I think

We implimented a pre-loader of sorts on the flash stuff. It's the 'black' bar you'll see creeping along the bottom of the flash area. Let me know if you think it's not working for you... :)

I really like the way you presented elements of your portfolio in a flash movie. The only thing I would prefer is that the movies include the option for volume, and the movies which loop (the blonde speaking) default to non-loop instead. Looks like you were inspired by the WDDG? (the flash portfolio) Or, I perhaps they, by you? Sorry, this comment wasn't really CSS centric.

About the preloader mentioned before.. I see no preloader of any kind in the flash movies.. If i enter the works section i only see a blank screen but i can see in IE that im downloading something and then the movie appears... In firebird i cannot view the flash at all.. I run win XP IE 6 AND Firebird 0.9

"Looks like you were inspired by the WDDG? (the flash portfolio) Or, I perhaps they, by you?" Never seen WDDG before, nice site. We must be on a similar wavelength. :)
