Great design. Too bad it's one of those DIV abusers, but nonetheless a great piece of work!

thanks for checking out the site jero and everyone else. i know the css is definitely lacking perfection in a lot of places. this is only the third site i've made without tables, so please feel free to let me know if you see any issues.

Third site without tables? Great job! It's definately looking very nice. I still think sites should be completely visible (no horizontal scrollbar) for 800 x 600 users.

I like the design a lot. Two -very small- suggestions: In your link bar, the visited link color (as well as the heading color for 'Contact Us' and 'Other Sweet Sites') is nearly the same color as the link bar background and very hard to see. Also, above the search box, I'd suggest putting the text 'Search' using the same heading you use through the link bar - just to make it match the rest. Nice design though, good use of space.

cool. thanks for the tips so far. i went with a layout optimized for 1024 b/c that resolution or higher was about 98% of the user base and the site in general is targeted towards a more web-savvy audience to begin with (for example, i.e. users only amount to about 15% of the traffic on the site). i know that can all be a heated topic though.

good tips, ian. thanks.

Excellent site, I love the layout and the content. I think 1024x is fine since he seems to know his demographic. the 800x600 barrier is reserved primarily for public service web sites imo. Congrats on the jump to table-less layout. It is a much better world.
