Installing Multiple IE On A Single Machine
Nothing can be more disappointing than discovering that all those hours you spent laboriously getting your website to display properly on Firefox and IE7 does not work on IE6. As developers we definitely need to have IE6 and IE7 running side by side on the same machine. That’s how I discovered Multiple IE.
Multiple IE is an all in one solution to installing and running older versions of Internet Explorer on a single machine. This release supports IE3 IE4.01 IE5 IE5.5 and IE6.

This package has some known issues, including:
- Sometimes IE5, IE5.5 and IE6 crash unexpectedly.
- The installer isn’t working under Windows Vista. Mike posted a howto in the comments for running IE6 in Vista.
On the other hand, if you’re looking for a way to install IE7 on your Windows machine without having to use Microsoft Update, a standalone version has been made available by the same group of people.

This is an absolutely essential tool for all designers and developers. I’m definitely gonna give it a try. Thanks for letting us know about this. In the past I’ve had to ask other people on different machines to test if a site works on another platform/browser. This tool will definitely help me save on my phone bills!
Thanks. keep posting.
